July 3, 2014 (TORONTO) – TMX Group Limited today announced June 2014 trading statistics for its marketplaces – Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Select, Alpha, Montreal Exchange (MX) and NGX.

Total TMX equities trading volume in June 2014 increased 6% compared to the previous month, and increased 5% compared to the same month a year earlier. Trading volume on Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2014 increased 11% compared to May 2014, but decreased 7% compared to June 2013. Volume on TSX Venture Exchange decreased 2% in June 2014 compared to the previous month, but increased 28% compared to June 2013. Trading volume on TMX Select in June 2014 increased 19% compared to May 2014, and increased 51% compared to the same month a year earlier. Alpha trading volume in June 2014 was essentially flat compared to the previous month, and increased 17% compared to June 2013.

In June 2014, volume on MX increased 9% compared to the previous month, but decreased 4% compared to the same month a year earlier. The level of open interest contracts at the end of June 2014 was essentially flat compared to the end of May 2014, and was also flat compared to the end of June 2013.

Volume on NGX in June 2014 decreased 2% from May 2014, and decreased 15% compared to June 2013.
