TMX Group’s Sharon Pel Wins Canadian General Counsel Award

June 18, 2013 (TORONTO) – TMX Group is proud to announce that Sharon Pel, Senior Vice President, Group Head of Legal and Business Affairs received the top award in the Deal Making category at the 2013 Canadian General Counsel Awards in Toronto last night for her role in the Maple transaction of 2012. The award recognizes innovation, overall complexity and management of internal and external teams in the context of a transaction.

Ms. Pel has been with TMX Group since 2003. Since that time, Ms. Pel has advised on all legal and regulatory issues that arise out of TMX Group's operations and business initiatives, including the creation of TMX Group in 2008 following the combination of Montréal Exchange Inc. and TSX Group Inc. Prior to joining TMX Group, Ms. Pel had been with Torys for 21 years, including the last 13 as a partner.
