Why is SR&ED review so important for Canadian innovation companies?

The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentives are intended to encourage businesses to conduct research and development in Canada. However this incentive is currently only available to private companies.

The federal government announced a revision of the program to potentially include Publicly traded companies. With this announcement, we convened stakeholders who could benefit most from SR&ED incentives. We heard from the Council of Canadian Innovators | Conseil canadien des innovateurs' Dana O'Born on how major improvements to SR&ED could impact the productivity and prosperity of our economy.
