As an initial step towards fostering greater inclusivity, we’ve introduced a comprehensive candidate survey form, enabling individuals to self-identify across a range of criteria including gender, ethnicity, professional designation, and industry experience.

This is just the beginning. We envision a dynamic, searchable database that will facilitate intelligent matching and foster connections between qualified candidates and leading organizations.

FAQ

The TMX Director & Officer Open Registry or TMX DOOR is a centralized registry of experienced and diverse director and officer candidates. As a first step, we have launched a survey form that collects self-identifying information including, gender, ethnicity, professional designation, and industry specific experience. In the future, our vision is to create a dynamic database that allows for searching, matching, and connections between individuals and companies.

The TMX DOOR survey form aims to gather information about your background, experiences, and qualifications in order to create your TMX DOOR Profile and to form part of a centralized registry of director and officer candidates.

The survey form includes questions related to:

  • Self-identification (e.g., age, gender, ethnicity, disability status)
  • Board and leadership experience (including public and private sector experience)
  • Sector-specific experience (e.g., technology, mining, finance)
  • Areas of expertise (e.g., finance, legal, marketing)
  • International experience
  • Language proficiency
  • Current board and officer positions
  • Educational background and professional designations

The answers are collected to build your TMX DOOR Profile.

Your TMX DOOR Profile is a record of the information compiled from your survey form responses. Before submitting your survey form, you are able to review your TMX DOOR Profile by clicking the icon in the top right-hand corner and choosing “My Profile”. Additionally, you can update your TMX DOOR Profile at any time to ensure its accuracy.

In a future phase of TMX DOOR, the registry may evolve into a dynamic database that enables searching, matching, and connections between candidates and business users. At that stage, your TMX DOOR Profile may be visible, but your name will not be disclosed. For certain self-identification questions, you have the option to withhold your response from appearing on your TMX DOOR Profile by selecting the “Do not disclose on my TMX DOOR Profile” option for the specific response.

TMX is developing TMX DOOR as a database of current and potential (i.e. candidate) directors and officers. In the future, business users may be able to search for potential job candidates based on the information the individual users provide on their TMX DOOR Profiles. Individual names will not be made available on TMX DOOR Profiles.

In addition, TMX will collect and use the information you provide to:

  • Operate, monitor, and improve TMX DOOR, including by allowing business users to search for or browse individual user profiles
  • Communicate with you and keep you updated on TMX DOOR and potential job opportunities (for example, we may notify you if a business user views your profile)
  • Identify and authenticate you
  • Personalize your experience
  • Produce diversity- and demographic-related aggregated reports and statistics that do not directly identify individuals
  • Provide you with information that you request from us, and to receive feedback from you
  • Research and study demographic and diversity trends in corporate leadership
  • To understand how you use TMX DOOR, including for data analytics, statistical analysis, internal business purposes, and product development purposes
  • To manage our business and day-to-day business and operational needs
  • Comply with any legal requirements, or protect our property, rights, or other interests

Full details are available in the TMX DOOR Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the TMX DOOR registry, we require ONE piece of identification issued by a government authority. This helps us verify your identity, prevent duplicate entries, and deter malicious actors. Please note that your government-issued identification is used solely for identity confirmation and is kept separate from your survey form responses, which are based on self-identification.

All questions in the TMX DOOR  survey form are mandatory; however you may choose not to include certain responses in your TMX DOOR Profile.

TMX protects your information by limiting access to it on a strict “need-to-know” basis, and implements reasonable physical, organizational and technological safeguards as appropriate. To review personal information handling practices, please refer to the TMX DOOR Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Yes, you can update your TMX DOOR Profile at any time by logging into the TMX DOOR portal and  clicking the “View and Edit your TMX DOOR Profile” button on the landing page.
