TSX Venture 50 Opens the Market

The 2017 TSX Venture 50 companies joined Brady Fletcher, Managing Director, TSX Venture Exchange to open the market. The TSX Venture 50 is an annual ranking of top performing companies from five sectors: Clean Technology & Life Sciences, Diversified Industries, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Technology. The 2017 TSX Venture 50 was determined based on equal weighting of the following measures: market capitalization growth, share price appreciation and trading volume.

Canadian Security Traders Association Opens the Market

Rizwan Awan, Canadian Security Traders Association, Inc., Chair joined Graham Mackenzie, Senior Acount Manager, Equities, TMX Group to open the market to kick-off the CSTA Annual Vendor Fair. Formed in 2000, the Canadian Security Traders Association (CSTA) serves as a voice for nearly 850 equity traders in Canada and works alongside its American counter parts. The Board of Governors is committed to industry advancement through regulatory input, continuing education, and collaboration. The CSTA Annual Vendor fair takes place today at the Design Exchange in Toronto and the annual conference will be held in Ottawa in August 2017.

Horizons ETFs Opens the Market

Steve Hawkins, President and Co-CEO, Horizons ETFs, joined Dani Lipkin, Head, Business Development, Exchange Traded Funds, Closed-End Funds, and Structured Notes, TMX Group to celebrate ten years since listing their first Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) on Toronto Stock Exchange. Horizons ETFs is a financial services company and a subsidiary of the Mirae Asset Financial Group. On January 8, 2007, Horizons listed its first two ETFs on Toronto Stock Exchange, Horizons BetaPro S&P/TSX 60 Bull Plus ETF (HXU) and Horizons BetaPro S&P/TSX 60 Bear Plus ETF (HXD). As at December 31, 2016, Horizons had 76 ETFs listed on TSX with a market capitalization of over $6.2 billion, and added another listing in January.
