TMX Group Consolidated Trading Statistics – January 2015

February 3, 2015 (TORONTO) – TMX Group Limited today announced January 2015 trading statistics across its marketplaces, which include Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Select, Alpha, Montréal Exchange (MX) and NGX.

In TMX equities markets, total volume traded in the month of January 2015 decreased by 12% compared with December 2014 and decreased 2% compared with January 2014.

Toronto Stock Exchange trading volume in January decreased 15% compared with the previous month, but increased 11% compared with the first month of 2014. Volume traded on TSX Venture Exchange in January decreased 12% compared with December 2014, and decreased 27% compared with January 2014. TMX Select volume increased 15% compared with the previous month, and increased 1% compared with the first month of 2014. Alpha volume traded decreased 5% month over month and decreased 11% compared with January 2014.

Volume on MX increased 3% compared with December 2014, and increased 11% compared to the January 2014. The level of open interest contracts at the end of January 2015 was down 12% from the end of December 2014, but 6% higher than the level at the end of January 2014.

NGX volume decreased 6% compared to the previous month, and decreased 20% compared with January 2014
